Indian American Forum for Political Education


Accomplishments
The Forum’s accomplishment includes but not limited to:

IAFPE has demonstrated a passion for civic involvement and has worked tirelessly to raise the level of civic engagement in our community.

Encouraged Forum members to participate in presidential and congressional campaigns, and arranged educational dialogue between candidates and Indian American community

Facilitated grass-root level participation in state and local government, election campaigns

Sponsored political summer internships for Indian American college students
-
Contacted congressional leaders, federal agencies and the media to raise awareness of issues relating to H1 Visa, Immigration bills (such as HR 2202 and S1394) and other Indian American professionals

Testified before congressional committees to preserve the Second and Fifth Preferences relating to family re-unification issues in the immigration law
-
Established an effective bipartisan liaison with the Democratic and Republican National Committees and periodically participated in White house briefings
-
IAFPE is the reason why we get vegetarian food in schools all over the United States.
